Welcome to the U, Robert Stafford!
Ju xx, 2022

Miami’s recruiting momentum continue as CB
Robert Stafford (Melbourne, FL - Eau Gallie) made his verbal commitment to the Canes.

Robert was a late offer by the Canes, but impressed the staff at a recent Miami camp. The staff quickly recognized his speed, quickness and pure athletic ability. They quickly began recruiting him very hard. He made his official visit to Miami on June 21st.

At 5’-11”/171, Robert is a blue chip athlete, rated 93, ranked the #12 athlete and #163 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He has 44 scholarship offers and chose Miami over Georgia, Oregon, Kentucky and Arkansas.

In high school,Robert has played on both sides of the ball. As a receiver, he caught 42 passes for 605 yards and 5 TD in 2021. On defense, played primarily at CB, with 17 tackles, 5 PBU and an INT in 9 games. He is projected as a cornerback at the next level.

Robert brings speed and ball skills to the field. He’s been a multi-sport athlete with an explosive fast-twitch. He tested very fast. In 2021, he began his transition to corner back. In his limited time at corner, Robert demonstrated an aggressive mindset in coverage. He has the perfect mental approach to the position. He has shown excellent fluidity and change of direction. He can easily mirror with his hips. His quickness and ability to close gaps allows him to be comfortable in off-man coverage. But what separates him from others in his outstanding leaping ability, allowing him to win plays at the catch point. Robert must bulk up to be successful at the college level but must be considered one of the best corner prospects this cycle in Florida.

Robert’s commitment is Miami’s 10th verbal commitment to their 2023 class, now ranked #19 in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Welcome to the U, Robert!  Welcome to the family!
