Welcome to the U, Emory Williams!
June 20, 2022
Miami received good news on Monday evening. QB prospect Emory Williams (Milton, FL - Milton) made it official when he gave the Canes his verbal commitment.
Emory has long been rumored to be a strong lean to Miami. Recently, he worked out for the Miami staff at their summer camp and passed with flying colors. It was reported he got the green light to commit right after that workout. Emory waited until after he officially visited Miami last weekend.
With 12 scholarship offers, Emory chose Miami over such schools as Pitt, Indiana, Memphis and USF.
He recent earned an invite to the prestigious Elite 11 camp where he will compete against the best of the best, including Tennessee commit Nicholaus Iamaleava, Clemson commit Christopher Vizzina, USC commit Malachi Nelson, and another Miami target, quarterback Jaden Rashada.
Rashada announced earlier on Monday that he would begin his official visit to Miami on Tuesday. It is unclear, at this time, if Miami will take a second quarterback commitment in this class or if Rashada’s official visit will take place.
In 2021, Emory completed 63% of his passes for 2,168 yards for 16 TD against only 3 INT in 9 games.
At 6’-4.5”/190, Emory is rated 85, ranked the #44 QB and #902 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class. He is Miami’s eighth verbal commitment to their 2023 class, now ranked #29 n the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
Welcome to the U, Emory! Welcome to the family!
