Welcome to the U, Davonte Brown!
December 19, 2022

Miami continued to be red hot on the recruiting trail on Monday, as UCF transfer cornerback
Davonte Brown (Fort Lauderdale, FL - American Heritage) announced he will be transferring to Miami.

At 6’-2”/185, Davonte is a three year veteran for the Knights, playing 1,800+ snaps during his time at UCF. In 2021, he played 763 snaps and earned a PFF coverage grade of 84.0 while not allowing a touchdown the entire season. In 2022, Davonte had 30 tackles, two INTs and four PBU.

Davonte is expected to compete for a starting job, as Miami must replaced both of their starting corners. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Davonte is the son of former Hurricane Selwyn Brown, and the older brother of Damari Brown, a Miami recruiting target who will announce his college decision on Wednesday.

Davonte is Miami’s second transfer commitment in the 2023 class, joining OL Javion Cohen who committed on Sunday.

Welcome Home, Davonte!
