Welcome to the U, Cam McCormick!
January 15, 2023
Miami welcomed their seventh transfer on Sunday when former veteran Oregon tight end Cam McCormick committed to the Canes.
At 6’5”/259, Cam will add experience and depth to Miami’s tight end room. He officially visited Coral Gables this weekend and quickly made his pledge on Sunday evening.
Cam will be playing in his eighth year of college ball. Yep! He was originally a member of the 2016 recruiting class. After his true freshman year in which he played in 13 games, he missed the next four years with injuries. Finally, in 2022 he played in 13 games, catching 10 passes for 66 yards and three touchdowns. He is also considered a good run-blocking tight end.
Actually, the NCAA has granted Cam a ninth-year of eligibility, so he has two more years left to play at the college level.
Miami’s tight end class will be very young in 2023. It’s hoped that Cam can provide veteran leadership and experience for the group.
Miami’s 2023 transfer class is presently ranked 17th in the nation, with McCormick and Deen still to be evaluated.
Welcome to the U, Cam! Welcome to the family!
