July 6, 2021

The new Name, Image and Likeness regulations went into effect less than a week ago, Miami is an early national leader in the implementation of programs to benefit their student-athletes.

After announcing sponsorship deals for QB D’Eriq King last week, another huge agreement was announced on Tuesday by American Top Team, a a local mixed martial arts team and training gym. The company announced plans to make a huge $540,000 commitment by offering NIL contracts to every University of Miami scholarship football player (90).

Under this program, American Top Team will offer one-year sponsorship contracts to every Miami football scholarship player (90). Each contract would pay each player $500 a month, up to $6,000 for a year.

The American Top Team program will be administered by “Bring Back The U”, a new marketing company formed to connect businesses with Miami players for NIL opportunities. Former Cane Kendrick Norton has been hired as vice-president of community outreach by American Top Team. Kendrick will assist in the recruitment of other businesses to participate in NIL campaigns with Miami.

Congratulations, Canes!

And many thanks to Dan Lambert, founder of American Top Team.

GO Canes!
