NCAA... a special constitutional convention
July 30, 2021

The NCAA Board of Governors took a historic step on Friday to convene a special constitutional convention in November.

A special 22-person Constitutional Review Committee will make recommendations for action at the NCAA’s scheduled Convention in January.

The committee will be made up of presidents, commissioners, athletics directors, and students from Divisions I, II and III.

NCAA President Mark Emmert said. "This is about wholesale transformation, so we can set a sustainable course for college sports for decades to come.”

The impetus for this action today is the recent news that Texas and Oklahoma will be leaving the Big12 Conference, heading to the SEC. It marks the beginning of the next round of college conference realignments.

The college power brokers are scrambling to maintain control and power. How will all this affect Miami?  More to come.
