

Miami beats UNC, 80-72

Miami hit the road on Monday night against North Carolina. And the Canes hit everything else, downing the Tar Heels, 80-72, in Chapel Hill.
The victory was the fifth straight for #15 Miami (21-5, 12-4 ACC). The Canes are in the thick of a very tight race for the ACC regular season crown, trailing on Pitt and Virginia by a half game.
Miami has four games remaining, with three of those games at home. Pitt and UVA have six games remaining.
Miami was led by Jordan Miller with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Nigel Pack added 23 points, while Isaiah Wong contributed 10 points in the victory.
A tight first half ended with Miami holding a narrow one-point lead at the half. The Canes came out strong in the second half with a pivotal 15-2 run.
Miami built a 64-52 lead with 4:20 left on the clock. The Tar Heels made a last ditch run at the Canes, pulling within 73-69 with 34.9 seconds left, but the Canes made 7of 8 free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.
Miami shot 46.4 percent (26 pf 56) from the field, while North Carolina shot 43.9 percent (29 of 66).
