Jake Garcia to enter portal…
January 17, 2023
On Tuesday, Miami quarterback Jake Garcia has announced he will enter the transfer portal, according to an ESPN report by Pete Thamel.
Garcia leaves Miami as a red-shirt sophomore. Coming out of high school, Garcia was rated 97, ranked the #8 QB and the #48 overall prospect in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
The California native suffered a season-ending ankle injury as a freshman in 2020 and was a backup to Tyler Van Dyke in 2022.
With Garcia’s departure, Miami will have three quarterbacks, Tyler Van Dyke, Jacurri Brown and true freshman Emory Williams, entering spring practice. Miami may now be looking for an experienced quarterback in the transfer portal.
We wish Jake the best as he continues his journey in college.
More to come.
