Josh Gattis is gone…
January 27, 2023

The long rumored release of Miami offensive coordinator
Josh Gattis became reality on Friday morning.

In a university issued statement
, coach Gattis was released from his duties as offensive coordinator. Gattis came to Miami from Michigan where hearted the Broyles Award in 2021 as the top college assistant coach.

Unfortunately, Miami’s offense in 2022 was among the worst in the country. The Canes averaged 23.6 points per game (#91), down from 34.8 in 2021. It was Miami’s lowest points per game since 2007.

Injuries had a lot to do with the failure of the offense. Miami suffered injuries to its starting quarterback, running back, and the entire starting offensive line. However, the Canes’ the production was unacceptable from reserves.

Earlier this month, former quarterback coach
Frank Ponce left Miami to assume the offensive coordinator position at Appalachian State.

Miami will now conduct a search for both a new offensive coordinator and a quarterback coaches. TheCaneReport will bring you updates on these searches.

We wish coach Gattis the best in his future career endeavors.

GO Canes!
